Telangana Rashtra Samithi (T.R.S):

  • K.C.R was initially a Youth Congress leader. 
  • Later, in 1983 he joined T.D.P established by NTR and was elected four times.
  • K.C.R served as the minister in T.D.P government.
  • He was elected as deputy speaker of Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh.
  • K.C.R criticized the Chandra babu’s vision document 2020 in public because it didn’t mention anything regarding the development of Telangana. 
  • Andhra leaders opposed the creation of Telangana by N.D.A government in the year 2000. 
  • So K.C.R wanted to quit T.D.P and started discussions with intellectuals, students and leaders of N.G.O.S.
  • K.C.R turned down the offer of TDP government and declared that his only aim was the formation of Telangana state. 
  • K.C.R announced the launch of Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) party.
  • Jayashankar, ideologies of Telangana state hood movement extended his support to K.C.R.
  • Driven by the strategies of Jayashankar, TRS succeeded in achieving its goal.

Ideology of T.R.S:

  • T.R.S was formed with a single point agenda that was the creation of a separate state of Telangana. 
  • TRS tried to disseminate the ideology of Kaloji Narayana Rao and Jayashankar sir in achieving its goal. 
  • T.R.S gave importance to two aspects in the propagation of Telangana Ideology.
  • First it tried to develop a positive response among the people of Telangana by explaining importance of the culture of Telangana, attaining self-governance and freedom from slavery 
  • Secondly, T.RS explained the people of Telangana the problem of exploitation and encouraged them to demand separate Telangana. 
  • T.R.S explained the people about the injustices done to the Telangana in allocation of river waters, employment. education and other sectors. It made clear that by attaining a separate state only they could get due share in all the resources.

Historical Importance of the T.R.S party:

  • T.R.S systematically questioned the plunder of the resources of Telangana and became the first political party to do so in the history. 
  • T.R.S party prepared the details of discrimination and exploitation in different sectors of Telangana region in a scientific and statistical manner. T.R.S raised awareness in the people regarding the need for a separate Telangana State. 
  • T.R.S has given a form to the Telangana movement both ideologically and structurally and gained support of different sections of the society in favour of separate Telangana state.

Girglani Commission:

  • Girglani Commission was formed in 2001 by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu. 
  • This was a single-member commission headed by Mr. Girglani.
  • Thakkalapalli Purushothama Rao is a politician. He supports the 1969 Telangana movement. The ‘Jai Bharat Reddy Committee Committee of Officers’ was appointed in 1985.
  • As Telangana people complained about the non-implementation of G.O 610, state government constituted Girglani commission in 2001 to look into the violations. 
  • The G O-610 report states that non-native residents who have obtained illegal employment in Telangana by 31 March 1986 should be sent back to their hometowns
  • The commission was ordered to submit its report in 90days.

Recommendations committte has made:

  • The misinterpretation of open category posts as non-local quota. 
  • Increasing the pay scales of some posts and decreasing the quota of local candidates.
  • Reserved category vacancies were filled before filling the open category vacancies which caused loss to locals and gain to lo non locals. 
  • The irregularities and one sidedness in inter-district and inter-zonal transfers.
  • Negligence in determining the number of non-locals who got jobs illegally by presenting bogus certificates.
  • Violations and illegal appointments in judicial services. 
  • Backlog posts of local candidates were changed to open category to benefit the non-locals. 
  • Equal justice was not done to all regions when appointments were made to the vacancies of state level offices like secretariat.
  • Six-point formula was applied only to the dairy development corporation. In other autonomous bodies (corporations & boards), it was not implemented. 
  • Didn’t care about the verdicts given by Administrative tribunal on illegal appointments.
  • All the loss done to Telangana regions should be calculated and rectified otherwise with which intention G.O No. 610 was passed, that intention would never be fulfilled.
